At SIS we believe in an holistic educational and social experience that will bring out the best in every learner. Whether it be Forest School or IGCSE all students receive quality time and educational experiences in our small class environment.
Sønderborg International School offers education at three levels with a high degree of learner support integrated from the beginning until they graduate:
1. Primary (Year 1-4) – Core subjects are connected across the curriculum enabling students to gain a broader understanding of how, and why, their learning is relevant.
2. Lower Secondary (Year 5-7) – Our balanced and broad curriculum provides students opportunities to engage in Arts, Languages, STEM subjects, Humanities and Sports.
3. Upper Secondary (Year 8-10) – In the upper Secondary students work towards IGCSE qualifications. Our students have the opportunity to study English, Maths, Science, Global Perspectives, Danish, German, History and Business Studies.
We also offer Danish First Language to students who speak Danish at a mother tongue level. We follow the guidelines set out in the Ministry of Education’s “Fælles Mål” for Danish. The final exam at the end of Upper Secondary is “Folkeskolens Afgangsprøve for 9. Klasse”.
